The r.o.w. you are speaking of is the former SP Avon-Radum line, not the SN. The SN line was further East, where BART is today. The SP tracks were only removed a few years ago (mid 90's). At some places, you can still see the rails where the grade crossings once were.

Trains ran directly behind what is present day BMW and Lexus dealership with tracks parallel to present day roadway, basically. ROW tunnel under 242 still existing but fenced off recently due to RV storage facility. Concord depot was adjacent to Market Street, of course.

Guest is correct. The S.N. depot facility was where the Concord Terminal Shopping Center is today across the road where Clayton & East Sts. are.The Concord BART sta. is just so many yards away.

can anyone take a photo from this viewpoint now? I've lived in concord since 1958, it looks like something I know but i'm totaly lost as to the viewpoint. Thanks for all the other input! You guys ROCK!!!.
